About the Teacher/Welcome Msg

      My name is Melissa Dodson.  My family moved to Southaven when I was eight years old and I have lived here ever since.  I am a graduate of Southaven High School and the University of Mississippi.  My family includes my husband, Steve, my daughter-Oliva (age 11), my son-Trevor (age 8) and our precious puppy Carly.  Our children keep us busy with sports and family activities.  

     I started teaching third grade at Greenbrook Elementary.  I taught there for ten years and absolutely loved it.  I took some time off when I had my own two children and came back to teaching three years ago.  That is when I became part of the DCPS family.  I have enjoyed teaching second grade and being back in the school setting.
